WHO ARE YOU?

I am Michelle Travis.  I am a mother of three strong willed, beautiful children Ezra, Amoron and Jolie and a faithful believer in Jesus Christ. Originally from Northeast Pennsylvania, my family and I moved to South Louisiana in 2015.  I have worn a lot of hats throughout my life as far as my career is concerned. For 25 years I worked in the restaurant industry, from dishwasher to management, including helping my parents run a successful family diner for over 10 years.  During my time working in this field I developed excellent communication and customer service skills, earning achievements such as being voted best server in our community, as well as management positions. From there I went into an Assistant Director role at a faith based child care center in which I honed my sharp attention to detail and organizational skills.  Before joining the team here at 5 Stones Media, I worked as the Executive Assistant at a local non for profit organization called Peter’s House.  In this position I was able to elevate my communication skills by developing business and community connections largely over the phone, creating satisfying relationships with both and funding for the non profit organization.

WHAT DO YOU DO?

My position here at 5 Stones is layered.  I am that first voice that our clients hear, I help manage the front end of the business, and provide assistance to my fellow teammates wherever needed.  As a webmaster jedi, I assist Brian with building out websites, and maintaining these websites to assure they stay online, function without flaw and assure users a rich online experience.

WHY DO YOU LOVE WORKING FOR 5 STONES MEDIA?

“Whatever you do, make sure you do it with integrity” is a motto I live by! Everything that is done at 5 Stones Media is done with integrity, showing the true character of each team member.  I also love being surrounded by such creative and talented people.  This job and the amazing people I work with challenge me and help me grow as a person each and every day!

WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT LESSON YOU HAVE EVER LEARNED?

The pause.  I have learned that when I react to any situation without taking the time to pause, reflect and then proceed, I act impulsively becoming part of a problem, rather than being part of a solution.

WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?

Making people laugh!

WHAT IS THE ONE THING YOU CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT?

Smiles! Dolly Parton says it best… “If you see someone without a smile, give them yours.”

WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES OUTSIDE OF WORK?

When I am not working I am wearing the cape of supermom! Most of our time together is spent doing as much as possible outside. We love to go to the river, have fun, exploring and dancing..especially in the kitchen!  I also love being creative, mostly through painting. My favorite way to paint is blending colors! Volunteer work is second nature to me and I am heavily involved in ministry at my church, The Mission.
