Who are you?
My name is Mark Daunis, I’m 22, and I just graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with my Bachelors of the Arts in Marketing.
What do you do?
As a social media manager at 5 Stones Media, I help clients discover their unique digital voice. From finding great content to share, to crafting customized campaigns that inspire, I like to keep the conversation moving forward on social media.
Why do you love working for 5 Stones Media?
I’m a child of the internet. I was home schooled during grades 7 and 8, and during that time I spent an unhealthy amount of time online. The experience was invaluable, and actually led to the opening of my first online business at 13.
I’m also obsessed with great design. When I was younger, my mom would always keep the house full of interior design books—I’ve found that good design tends to be universal, meaning that the same rules tend to apply across a variety of disciplines.
Combine that love of technology and art, and it just makes sense.
Tell us something no one knows about you!
Some people know this, but only close friends. When I don’t have anything to reply with via text, I will reply with a random object between hyphens.
It’s to imply that I literally am that object… It’s meaningless, but it makes me laugh. -Tree-
Who/What inspires you?
It’s such a random assortment, but here it goes…
- Bill Nye
- Britney Spears
- Dieter Rams
- Paul Rand
- Tim Burton
What’s your favorite site or blog for news in digital marketing?
Brand New - I love seeing how big brands evolve (or devolve) their identities. Plus, the commentary is great!
What is your biggest pet peeve?
I can’t explain why, but my method of organizing things at home involves lining them up parallel to one another at a 90-degree angle. When people move something out of place...no, just...no. (This is a real thing, called knolling! I didn’t always know that.)
What is one thing you can't live without?
My survival rate drops to below 0 when I don’t have Diet Coke.
